Microfinance Frontliners Convene for the First Operations Staff Summit
Organized by the Microfinance Council of the Philippines, Inc. (MCPI), microfinance operations staff convened at the Sheraton Manila Bay in Malate, Manila on June 10-11, 2025 for the 2025 Microfinance Operations Staff Summit. The event was attended by close to 300 participants from 41 institutions. During the summit, topics including managing delinquency, instilling credit discipline, organizing center meetings, improving loan processes and procedures, and implementing digitalization were discussed.
MCPI Chairperson Gilbert Maramba welcomed the participants, while Dr. Jaime Aristotle B. Alip, CARD MRI Founder and Chairman Emeritus provided the keynote message. During the plenary session, Assistant Governor Pia Roman Tayag of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and Assistant Director Emma Valencia of the Securities and Exchange Commission highlighted regulatory policies on sustainable finance, while Ms. Hazel Esteban, client of Ahon Sa Hirap, Inc. (ASHI) shared her first-hand experience of the benefits of accessing green inclusive finance. The closing message was given by MCPI Executive Director Allan Robert Sicat.
The summit is part of a series of events leading to the MCPI Annual Conference to be held on July 30-31, 2025.
