We are pleased to announce the start of the 2013 Citi Microentrepreneurship Awards (CMA), previously known as the Citi Microentrepreneur of the Year (MOTY) Program. As in the ten previous runs of the MOTY awards, the participation of microfinance institutions is again being sought to significantly increase the success of the program.
MCPI is encouraging your institution to participate in this year’s search for outstanding microentrepreneurs. For this year’s program, one (1) Citi Microentrepreneur of the Year and three (3) regional awardees from the country’s three major island groups of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be recognized. This is open to microenterprises with asset size of PHP300,000 to PHP3 million. Two special awards will be given – one Special Enterprise Award for microenterprises with asset size less than PHP300,000; and a Special Award for Innovation for enterprises that have successfully adopted technological or social innovations in its business.
This year, another award – the Sustainability Award – will be given to one (1) past winner of the CMA program who has successfully sustained and grown his/her enterprise in the last three years.
Under normal procedures, MFIs shall submit nomination forms to microfinance networks or associations where they are members. Please note that the closing date for MFIs to submit client nomination forms and the MFI Monitoring Form to your network is on July 17, 2013. However, if your institution doesn’t belong to any network, or prefer to submit nominations directly to MCPI, you can forward the forms to the office of MCPI, Unit 1909 Jollibee Plaza Condominium, F. Ortigas Jr. Road, Ortigas Center, Pasig City. The closing date for MFIs to submit the required forms to MCPI is on July 22, 2013.
