Building on the discussions on the evolving approaches to center meetings during the Microfinance Operations Staff Summit organized by the Microfinance Council of the Philippines, Inc. (MCPI) in April 2026, MCPI organized a Lakbay Aral for Operations Staff on June 10-11, 2026. This was participated by 48 MFI staff from 16 institutions. The Lakbay Aral aimed to provide participants with practical insights into how different MFIs implement their center meetings. The visit enabled participants to observe actual center meetings, interact with management and field staff, and engage directly with microfinance clients to better understand the evolving practices related to the conduct of center meetings.

The participants visited CARD MRI in San Pablo City, Laguna on Day 1 and Kasagana-ka Credit and Savings Cooperative on Day 2. The host MFIs presented their approach to conducting center meetings and the enhancements they have implemented to address the changing preferences of their clients. The participants were then divided into different groups to visit and observe the center meetings of the host MFIs. Following the field visits, participants engaged in discussions and shared their insights and observations with other participants.
