
Organized by the Microfinance Council of the Philippines, Inc. (MCPI), operations staff of MFIs convened for the 2026 Microfinance Operations Staff Summit on April 7-8, 2026 at the Century Park Hotel in Manila. The event was attended by 287 participants from 50 institutions. During the summit, topics on microfinance operations including conducting center meetings, achieving productivity targets, dealing with client behavior, addressing mental health, managing portfolio and clients, and addressing internal and external risks were discussed.

MCPI Chairperson Eduardo Jimenez welcomed the participants, while CARD MRI Founder and Chairman Emeritus Dr. Jaime Aristotle B. Alip provided the keynote message. During the first plenary session, Charisma Baun, member of Kabuhayan sa Ganap na Kasarinlan Credit and Savings Cooperative (K-Coop), Bebiana Romero, client of Kabalikat para sa Maunlad na Buhay, Inc. (KMBI), and Johna Flores Rasimo, client of Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation, Inc. (NWTF), shared their experiences with their respective MFIs, highlighting the approaches and strategies that work on the ground.

The succeeding plenary sessions had a practical exchange on what works in conducting traditional and modified center meetings and a discussion on addressing mental health and resilience of field staff. The closing message was given by MCPI Board Member Fr. Rex Paul Arjona.
The summit is part of a series of events leading to the MCPI Annual Conference to be held on August 12-13, 2026.
