The Beyond Microcredit: A Wholistic Approach to Poverty Eradication is a two-part conference series which started in November 2009. These multi-stakeholder dialogues aimed to share knowledge on newer and more effective ways to address poverty, such as increasing the protection of the most vulnerable segments of our society. The 2nd conference of the series was held on 29-30 July 2010 at the Apo View Hotel in Davao City, Philippines and was organized in partnership with the Mindanao Microfinance Council, Inc. (MMC). Among the subjects of interest shared in this conference are best practices by renowned institutional practitioners adopting a wholistic approach to poverty eradication, microinsurance, disaster risk reduction management, client protection, operating microfinance in difficult locations and social performance management.
