The theme of the 2011 MCPI Annual Conference was Making A Difference: Multi-Stakeholder Action Towards Responsible Microfinance. The conference brought forth a multi- approach to protecting microfinance clients and promoting responsible financial products and practices. In the past 15 years, Philippine microfinance has become one of the most dynamic and vibrant sectors in the world. However, recent issues and developments in the global microfinance arena are prompting microfinance stakeholders to revisit goals, products and practices in microfinance. The conference took stock of where the Philippine microfinance sector is and what are the issues and challenges that require collective action for better microfinance. The conference took place on July 28-29, 2011 at the Hyatt Hotel Manila.
